TUSCULUM PLANNING COMMISSION/ BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS
The Tusculum Planning Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals meets monthly (As required) on the 2d Tuesday at 6 pm in the City Hall.   . The next scheduled meeting will be December 8, 2020.

TUSCULUM CITY PARK

The Tusculum City Park is open to the public year around.  However, toilet facilities are only available from May through October. The Park is located on West Street directly behind Doak Elementary School. The Park provides a walking track, playgrounds, horseshoe pits, and one pavillion.  The pavillion has 13 picnic tables, 2 serving tables, 2 sitting benches, elecricity and 1 small grill and is available for reservation at $9 per hour for special events by calling (423) 638-6211 between 9 am and 1 pm M-F or emailing to tusculumcity@comcast.net (See application below).  In addition, the Tusculum Linear Trail begins at the Park.
The Public Works Department provides services to include maintenance of all City roads, weekly pickup of residential trash, and the pickup of  small amounts of yard waste, and limited recycle.

RESIDENTIAL TRASH PICKUP:
Tusculum will pick up residential trash weekly on Wednesdays and Thursdays.  Trash must be placed in a Tusculum City Tote  (Totes are availablle for $75.00 at the Tusculum City Hall) and set by the curb with at least a 6 foot clearance araound, it no later than 7:30 am on pickup days.

CLIPPINGS, CUTTINGS, AND LEAF PICKUP:
Tusculum will  pick up small/fine hedge clippings, flower cuttings and leaves which are placed in plastic bags; weight should not exceed 35 lbs.  Limbs must be tied up in bundles no longer than 6 ft and weighing no more than 35 lbs. Clippings, cuttings and bagged leaves will not be picked up during November and December during roadside leaf pickup which ends on Dec 27. Please call Tusculum CIty Hall at 638-6211 to let us know if you have items above for pickup.

APPLIANCE/FURNITURE PICKUP:
When purchasing new appliance/furniture, please require that the supplier remove the old appliance/furniture as part of the transaction.  Old carpeting, rugs and building materials will not be picked up.  If you have a mattress, information for disposal can be found at https://www.mattressadvisor.com/mattress-disposal-guide/.


RECYCLE: Temporarily stopped 
Recycle cans, plastic and newspaper/ magazines  are picked up every 2d and 4th Mondays of the month. Note: When pickup days fall on a holiday, pick up will be the day following the holiday.  Cans and plastic should be empty and rinsed and placed in a recycle bin at the curb.   Note:  Greene County has placed cardboard, plastic and newspaper/magazine recycle dumpsters at the Tusculum City Hall for 24 hours access.

NOTE: Removal of heavy trimmed limbs from trees and cut or fallen trees is the responsibility of the resident/owner. If you use a professional tree trimmer to trim or cut your trees, it is the responsibility of the homeowner to dispose of the tree/limbs.

LEAF PICKUP
Residents are encouraged to use their lawn mowers to chop up leaves or pile  leaves for future use as a mulch product.  Leaf pickup for the City of Tusculum occurs during the months of November and December. If you would like your leaves removed, you should rake your leaves to the edge of the street for pickup with a leaf vacuum. The leaves must be free of limbs, sticks, rocks, walnuts, etc.  If not, the leaves will not be removed.  Do not bag leaves during this time.

The Tusculum Police Department in partnership with the Drug Enforcement Administration is providing a pharmaceutical disposal box at the Tusculum City Hall at 145 Alexander Street in Tusculum.  Participants may dispose of medication in its original container or by removing it from the container and disposing it directly into the disposal box.  For more information, call (423) 588-5546.

We now have a DEA Drug Drop Box for you to safely dispose of old prescription drugs.  It is located in the City Hall.

BUILDING PERMITS:

  "No construction, alteration, repair, removal, relocation or demolition of a building or structure shall occur within the corporate limits of the city of Tusculum until a permit has been issued by the City."
